Story:

Yeon Sang-ho will return to "Train to Busan 2," and there's no word yet on whether he'll direct again. Romeroa's small budget "Train to Busan" suffered some problems because the film is set in South Korea, not the United States or other parts of the world. The first film, a horror film with a budget of $1.5 million, took place when the protagonists were pursued by zombies as a train raced across the Busans peninsula. It took place in Seoul as the characters struggled to escape from a country in ruins following an unprecedented catastrophe. 

As the zombie virus breaks out in South Korea, passengers on a train from Seoul to Busan are struggling to survive. A young woman, her estranged daughter and her best friend are caught on a speeding train during a zombie outbreak in South Korea. 

It is rare for a zombie flashmob to shed tears as easily as a scream, but Train to Busan is a rare example of the whole package.

Yon has displayed a discernibly cinematic sensibility in his last three indie anime films, but this turns out to be even more unpretentious and entertaining. Faced with a crushing nihilistic vision of humanity that dilutes mainstream appeal, Yeon's ability to easily transition from anime to life - action - is surprising. 

The plot follows a group of train travellers who try to survive hordes of voracious zombies as they attempt to make it to the safety of Busan. Korean zombies, written and directed by Yeon Sang - ho (Fake (2013), "Train to Busan" is one of the best zombie films in the country (if you include the zombie film) of recent times. 

When I first heard that this movie was coming out, I wanted to give it a review because it's damn near flawless. Since George A. Romero's "Zombieland" in the late 1980s and early 1990s, the zombie character has been a staple of American horror movies. 

And yet this is by far my favourite stretch of horror goodness, and the latest rumours are a bit disappointing. Take a look at my review of "Zombieland" and my thoughts on the upcoming "Train to Busan" movie. 

As for "Train to Busan 2," the film is slated for release in 2020, with a theatrical release the same year as "Zombieland" and a sequel in 2019, according to recent rumors.
