SCREEN SHOTS

Combined with a double-crossed thief, a corrupt policeman and a criminal mastermind, the action thriller Precious Cargo emerges.

Director Max Adams, like his co-writer and director Jack Gosselaar, is a real newcomer to the world of directing and screenwriting. In his directorial debut, Gosselaar plays Jack, a criminal who rips off other criminals with the help of his adorable sidekick Logan (an accomplished sniper who shoots his prey in a bikini top and cropped shorts). With Ryan Reynolds, Claire Foy, Kate Winslet and a host of other talented actors, the action, flying bullets and high-octane action didn't quite hit the target Precious Cargo was looking for.

Jack, who has a beautiful and inviting Claire Forlani (Kate Winslet) as his girlfriend, is stunned when she breaks in during the act of love. Karen tries to explain her reappearance, pointing to her stomach and advising Jack to wear a condom, only to be interrupted by armed assailants storming the house. Jack is convinced he has to steal a rare gem to get back at the welcome and sharply adapted crime boss (Ryan Reynolds).

Willis has form in the arena of Prince of Vice and Extraction, but it's still sad to see him return to the role of villain in a film with such a strong female lead.

If chess is a metaphor for life and monologues, the thoughtful guy can drop a few lines about being on the trail of Jack and Karen. The only problem is that we get involved in a total of eight scenes, all of which take place in the first half of the film, with only a handful of action moments. While we rage in the villages, there is also a bizarre scene in which Eddiea's thug Simon (Daniel Bernhardt), perhaps the only stooge of cinema called Simon, inexplicably visits his bikini-clad harem at his father's house.

While the plot structure sounds pretty good on paper, the film is like a dog, and it's just stunningly stupid. Precious Cargo is a really, really bad movie, mind you, but it's not bad, because there's no way to sit back and enjoy the viciousness.

I readily admit that I am something of a connoisseur of castle cinema, and I proudly own an ever-growing library of Cannon Films. Precious Cargo can't even raise itself to this low standard of entertainment, it's so bad that it needs to be revisited.

The only really decent aspect of the film is that Mark Paul Gosselaar is actually trying to make the most of things. In full Zach Morris mode, he's charming, manages to pull off some decent action stunts, and whips out some really comedic timing.

For once Bernhardt actually has characters that play into the dialogue and everything. I think that's because the witty dialogue consists of people repeatedly dropping F-bombs in sentences.
Pressed as a region BD50 disc, the disc comes in a black box with a white background and black-and-white coloring. Burning Notice, but Precious Cargo has saved none of that, and it plays out like a rated episode of the show.

Based on his short feature film debut by Max Adamsa, in which he is seen for the first time as John McClane and Zack Morris, you can sit back and see the spark leap. Precious Cargo is a DTV action trope that disguises itself as a film, and that's a good thing. The disc arrives and opens in the main menu, which offers traditional navigation options.

The DVD is directed by the first two films in the series, John McClane and Zack Morris, and leaves behind heated action leaks and a good deal of dialogue.

Recently, however, I read between the lines, saw this small low-budget action movie directly on DVD and stream, gave it a name and showed it to some of my friends and family as well as a few other fans of the series. This is a film about Bruce Willis, but Willis has grown bored since he took on demanding prestige roles in the late 1990s. Expect some top-of-the-range bells and whistling action sequences, with the Mississippi Gulf Coast used as a backdrop.

After a botched robbery Eddie, a murderous criminal boss, hunts down the seductive thief Karen, who has let him down. To gain Eddie's trust, Karen recruits her ex-lover, the main thief Jack, to steal a load of rare and precious gems.

When the job fails, loyalty is betrayed and Jack, Karen and Eddie face each other in a fateful showdown. Line crosses the line between Eddie and Karen as they fight for control of the precious gems and their lives.
