Story:
It’s 1954, and up-and-coming U.S. marshal Teddy Daniels is assigned to investigate the disappearance of a patient from Boston’s Shutter Island Ashecliffe Hospital. He’s been pushing for an assignment on the island for personal reasons, but before long he wonders whether he hasn’t been brought there as part of a twisted plot by hospital doctors whose radical treatments range from unethical to illegal to downright sinister. Teddy’s shrewd investigating skills soon provide a promising lead, but the hospital refuses him access to records he suspects would break the case wide open. As a hurricane cuts off communication with the mainland, more dangerous criminals “escape” in the confusion, and the puzzling, improbable clues multiply, Teddy begins to doubt everything – his memory, his partner, even his own sanity.
Shutter Island (2010) Trailer
Even before the film was released, Shutter Island was working on its first major theatrical release in the United States, and even before that work was being done on it. The ominous demise of "Shutter Island" begins with a few ominous, ominous prophets, and then a bit of bang, then a few more ominous ones.
And it's the delicious shuddering fear you feel when a horror film is heading for something and doesn't release tension with an action scene. In its own way it is a haunted house film, but in its own way it is made into a fortress of haunted castles. Shutter Island, we are told, is a fictional city in Boston where a Civil War fort has been turned into a prison for the criminally insane.
As we approach our boat as we lower into the sky, the feeling of being addressed changes from a pleasant, calm and peaceful feeling to a feeling that is something like approaching King Kong Island.
But it is also a place of great beauty, with a beautiful, beautiful landscape and a large number of beautiful people, all of whom are to themselves. Itbe and they are tasked with investigating the disappearance of child killer Emily Mortimer (Emily Blunt).
They are on a mission, but there seems to be no way for them to leave the island alive and they are in danger of being killed. This question was never asked, but the disappearance of a prisoner may not require the presence of two marshals unfamiliar with the situation. For all of us, it lurks behind the ominous walls of the prison, a constant threat to our safety and that of all around us. Visitors are shown the prison's medical director, Dr Cawley (played with the forbidden charm of Ben Kingsley), and his wife, Mrs D'Arcy.
Teddy, but it's clear that he has no idea what he's getting into, and he's not having any ideas about what to do with it. And he is in the middle of a fight with his best friend, a man with very different skills and a different outlook.
Scorsese, who is working on a novel by Dennis Lehane, seems to be telling a simple story: a woman goes missing and Teddy and Chuck will be looking for her. And in the cold, grey walls, enclosed in a thick layer of dust, the office of Cawley and his colleagues seems to borrow from a story by Edgar Allan Poe, like that of a Civil War officer. Scorsese craftsmen who, piece by piece, scan reality using a series of clever, clever and sometimes hilarious visual tricks.
This flashback suggests something of a new kind of movie - a kinder, gentler version of "The Matrix," but with a more realistic twist. The war, its prologue and its aftermath deliver the dark undercurrents of classic film noir with its dark, gritty atmosphere. The New York Times, but I was not useful then, I could see the man trying to look confident in his subdued facade of unstyled suits and heavily smoking fedora pulled deep in the rain.
He and Ruffalo influenced the look, but DiCaprio made him look more hopeful in disguise with his dark eyes and a smile on his face. In this sense, the film's primary effect is to bend to its own narrative, its focus on the relationship between the two characters. It all combines disturbing foreboding and terrible secrets, with a sense of fear, fear and a deep sense that everything is part of a larger plot.
A woman escapes from a wall so strong that she can withstand cannon fire, she is the only one in the world with such a wall. Why did the deputy warden behave so rudely towards her in the first place? Why was even the pleasant person behind her not convincingly friendly? German soldiers during World War II who helped liberate the Nazi death camps and the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp. This is the kind of question that is at the heart of film noir, and it is one of the most important questions in the history of cinema.
In a film noir, the hero is always flawed, whether in his own mind or in the eyes of others and in society in general. He has unresolved problems, has buried trauma and had to have a long and painful relationship with his wife and children, his mother and father.
So perhaps Teddy wasn't just a g - he was cut from the same cloth as his father or even his grandfather, but rather the son of a man. So why are the other two characters so strange, and why do they seem so similar and so different?
Every time Kingsley smiles, he's a bit more than a jerk to his friends and family and a lot more than an asshole to all of us. But Shutter Island is all about the thrilling visuals, the thrilling action and the intense, intense action. The film Scorsese is showing his cast is Hitchcock's Vertigo, but it's a film with a sense of humor and a sense of the characters and their personalities.
There is evidence that a fleeing woman could be lurking in a cave or on a cliff, hiding behind a lighthouse or even in the depths of the ocean. This involves driving through dangerous terrain and falling vertiginously off cliffs as waves pound against the rocks below.
A possible hurricane is approaching with winds of up to 60 miles per hour and a potential storm surge of up to 100 feet per hour. The lights are shining into the sky, and in the distance thunder is booming, a sign of a possible hurricane on the horizon. It is a dark and stormy night, with a light breeze, a few clouds and, as they say, "a bit of rain" on the horizon. Because the film is a classic, a true story of a man's journey to the edge of the world and the ultimate journey of his life.
It's done with impeccable direction, a brilliant cast of actors, an excellent script and a great cast and an incredible cast. Scorsese is afraid to conjure, and he does so with grace and humor, but also with an almost obsessive focus on the many tones he has to deal with each of them. You may have read my review of Shutter Island, in which I complained about the blind-sided ending and the lack of a good ending. The uncertainty it causes prevents the film from feeling perfect at first sight, but it is still a great film, and a very good one at that.
Although I feel that it could improve the second time around, it is still not perfect, at least not the first time.
You might think it doesn't make sense, but it's a good example of the "real world" of a real world with real people. It is a film that raises a lot of interesting questions about the nature of the world and the role of science fiction in the modern world. But how should we end up asking ourselves, and how should we be offended by the portrayal of the characters, their actions or their behavior? A more "satisfactory" one would be a more realistic, accurate representation of the real world and a better one than the one I had imagined.
Why can't we be the critics who tell the director what he should have done instead, and the directors of the film itself? At that moment I was acting like a little jerk, like an idiot and a bit of the worst kind of idiot.
It is a great story, and it is one of the most memorable stories in the history of our country, but I am sure it will be remembered for a long time. The film is a bit strange, a film that doesn't seem to fit the genre, but is still a funny and entertaining film. This is an attempt to note down the preceding carefully and draw logical conclusions, and it is not a bad idea.
And yet, even if we cannot pin down exactly what was before, we will still do it because we have to. There are things about Cawley and his strange associates that hide in public, even in the most opaque parts of the city, like the old police station. The film lacks a reliable narrator, and it is not even a good one, since it has no plot and relies on few characters. What if a viewpoint is not omniscient and fragmented, but rather a collection of different perspectives, each with its own unique strengths and weaknesses?
What if the most powerful and powerful forces in the world - the forces of nature, the gods and the universe - collide, where can we lead? Teddy was also asked about the future of the island and the potential for its future, both in terms of people and the environment.
