Lundgren probably contributed a day's filming to the very inappropriately named Black Water, but the ultimate call to action was not watered down. The Buddy Movie, which never clicked on TopReviews in the first two years of its release.
Black Water is a horror film that makes do with relatively little, and there is no shortage of that, of course. The Dark Waters Movie and True Story, which silently monitor the health of employees and dispose of their waste into water bodies. Human crocodile - nibbling, human - eating, animal - cannibalistic creature of the worst kind
Andrew Traucki said in an interview that he was actually inspired to make the film after seeing Open Water and was "really impressed.
If you want your horror to come only from being persecuted by cruel predators, this is the film for you. If you like good strip-back horror thrillers, you'll admire this for what it is: a good, old-fashioned horror thriller with a twist.
Director David Nerlich (Andrew Traucki) is no stranger to the dangerous predator genre; he has also directed Open Water, which tells the story of a group of people being chased by sharks. Black Water follows three tourists who decide to take a boat trip on a crocodile - a contaminated river in a barter shop on the northern Australian border.
The budget is really minimal, but there is plenty of room for a few extras like a camera crew and two snorkeling victims in the sea. Crocodile killing plays on the fears of director Greg Mclean, who has evolved from "Rogue" to "Rogue," a film about a man who is eaten by crocodiles to a man who eats crocodiles. Standing on the banks of the River Blythe, an eight-year-old girl is snatched and killed by a crocodile. There is much to do in Blackwater, and most of it is done out of fear of a lurking predator, not out of the actual threat itself.
One of the most popular tours is the Jumping Crocodile Cruise, where passengers can watch crocodiles from an air-conditioned boat sailing down the Adelaide River. The reptile is lured into the water by a guide dangling a piece of meat in a long snake. Cameras flash wildly and tourists applaud as the animal disappears under the brown water.
Funnily enough, the release of a horror film like Black Water didn't put tourists off, but actually encouraged them, "he says," because it's obviously an Australian film through and through.
A similar film was made in 2007, "Rogue," in which a human also chewed on a crocodile, and many comparisons have been made. Rogue was cast to take an international audience with it, while Black Water featured actors unknown outside Australia. Many critics, however, pivoted to it because it was much more slippery and more of a Hollywood affair, preferring the basic scary techniques employed by Black Water.
Rogue showed an elaborately animated crocodile, while the much lower Black Water brilliantly used real crocodiles filmed in zoos and digitally inserted. In comparison, Rogue is more drawn to the tension and driving strategies patented by Jaws (1975), while Black Water draws more from the tension driving strategy of the original. Blackwater no doubt reminds me a little of "Jaws," with its high-octane action sequences, but also of other films in the genre such as "Daredevil" and "The Matrix."
Written and directed by Andrew Traucki and David Nerlich in 2007, "Black Water" is one of the best action films of recent times and the first of its kind. The film is inexorably enthralled by the brilliant writing and staging skills of Andrew Trauckis and his co-director David Nerlich, as well as the superb performances of Michael Fassbender and Michael Caine.
Set in the mangrove swamps of northern Australia, "Black Water" stars Michael Fassbender, Michael Caine and Maeve Balfour as a group of men on the run from the Australian Federal Police (AFP) in search of an elusive killer shark.
Inspired by a pregnant woman, they take a trip to the mangrove swamps where they are terrorised by wild saltwater crocodiles. While on holiday in northern Australia, they decide to take the Blackwater Barry tour for swamp fishing. Her husband Adam is convinced to visit a crocodile exhibition, and she and her husband Adam are convinced that it is a "crocodile exhibition."
Their guide Jim uses a small motorboat to take the tourists down the river to a remote spot, but when they stop they are attacked by a huge crocodile that capsizes the boat and immediately kills Jim. Realising that help would never come to their aid, the three survivors decide to climb a tree and try to find a way to their sheltered place.
We forget what we know about these characters, we empathize with them after their crappy day in hell, which shatters their dreams of the future with a fatal blow. We don't care if they die, but we forget the characters we knew and we don't really care about them when he dies.
