Story:
Chris Faraday once smuggled illegal items or contraband into the country on freighters. He left that life behind, got married, has a family and went legit. But when his brother-in-law got involved with Briggs, a drug dealer and when he blew a deal, Briggs demands restitution which he can’t deliver. So Chris offers to find a way to pay Briggs but then he threatens Chris’ family if he doesn’t deliver. So he gets on a freighter destined for Panama and he sets out to bring back some counterfeit currency. Briggs “goes to see” Chris’ family. When Chris learns of this he asks his friend Sebastian to take care of them which he does. He tells Chris that it would be better to bring drugs instead of the cash.

SCREEN SHOTS

Still, an unforgettable film is rarely a bad one, and Contraband has an entertaining kick when its plot finally gets moving. Without the belligerent side that marked the first two films of his career, Wahlberg is all too easily drawn into the role of an old-school smuggler (John Travolta) who is drawn into the smuggling business by his ex-wife (Jennifer Lawrence).
After stealing cocaine from a freighter, the bad guys threaten to kill him if he can't raise the money quickly. After leaving his legitimate home security business behind, Farraday takes responsibility for the debts and embarks on a mission to raise millions of dollars in counterfeit bills and protect his brother - in law - from drug lords.
Chris Farraday is an ex-smuggler who leads a peaceful life as a son in New Orleans, but learns that Kate's brother Andy smuggles drugs and drops them off at his sister's house. Two Aramaic gastronomy workers are arrested for smuggling into a state prison. He was ordered to forfeit $3,600, and he was also sentenced to three years of supervised release.
Candace Holmes, 20, was arrested on June 19, 2012, for attempting to bring cocaine and heroin to the Central New Mexico Correctional Facility in Santa Fe, NM, and charged with six drug offenses. Then, on July 29, 2012, Aramark worker Mel Baca was caught trying to smuggle food and a cell phone out of the central New York state prison in New Haven, New York.
Baca was charged with fourth-degree smuggling of contraband, and more than $1,000 in cash, a cellphone and a handgun were found in his vehicle. On 17 October 2012, Camerone, 21, was charged with two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and one count of trafficking drugs in a motor vehicle.
Three other people who were not in prison were charged with 11 counts, including one each for possession of drug paraphernalia and trafficking in motor vehicles, and two for smuggling contraband. Three Fulton County sheriff's deputies were arrested after the FBI uncovered a drug and contraband program. They are accused of conspiring to smuggle more than 1,000 pounds of heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine, marijuana and other drugs into and out of the Fulton County jail.
Also charged was Derek Turner, 37, a prison official accused of taking bribes from two inmates to smuggle drugs and other contraband into the facility. Louisiana Three people, including a former security guard, were arrested by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation in October 2012 for trafficking heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia into the Maury County jail. The arrests were the result of a joint investigation by the Maury County Sheriff's Office and the FBI. Three Fulton County sheriff's deputies and two former county jail guards were arrested in connection with the smuggling program.
The investigation began about a month ago, when an inmate reported that items had been brought into the prison. When investigators found a cellphone and a pair of headphones in his possession, they accused him of smuggling contraband into a detention center. They arrested him the same day and arrested his wife and two other inmates.
Of course, smuggling is also anything that is explicitly illegal, but Decotis had no criminal record, no record of criminal activity, and no history of drug use.
Contraband is about the power of the prisoner, and it enables him to gain power over others. For example, prisoners can use their employees "credit card information to force officials to enforce lax enforcement rules. For corporate prisoners, the use of prohibited services such as drugs, alcohol or weapons is the building block of power.
Our hero, a crack team of crooks, gets a job with the crew of a cargo ship to smuggle counterfeit money out of Central America.
The gangsters are played by Giovanni Ribisi, who is so unkempt and creepy here that he makes Ratso Rizzo look like Fred Astaire. Set largely in Mexico after the smugglers "efforts in Panama, the film shows Chris's wife (blonde Kate Beckinsale) being repeatedly harassed and threatened at home by the gangster. They threaten to kill Chris's family unless Andy pays back $700,000.
While working for a legitimate construction company that now belongs to him, Chris decides to raise money for smuggling. When he promises Kate that he will not sell drugs, he boarded a cargo ship and plans to buy $10 million worth of counterfeit notes in Panama and smuggle them into the United States.
