Thor Ragnarok entertained viewers with his epic battle between Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Loki (Tom Hiddleston). Hela has become a threat that Thor must eliminate, and with the help of his new ally Loki, he finds himself disguised as Odin's father in Asgard.
While Cate Blanchett plays Hela remarkably well, her character lacks the sparkle needed to become an iconic Marvel villain. Of all the characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Thor is by far the least interesting, with just a handful of memorable moments.
With a thin characterization and a weak plot, it bored me considerably, and to be honest, I didn't feel the need to improve my vague memory after seeing the Thor Ragnarok trailer a few months ago. Ever since I saw Thor: Ragnarok, I've had expectations for Thor, but I'm pleased to report that the film is a much better film than I expected, with a lot more depth and character development. Ragnarok takes a different approach to the story of Thor and his relationship with Hela, moving away from the usual plot twists and plot holes of previous films.
We follow Thor (Chris Hemsworth) as he is thrown out of his home world of Asgard by Hela (death goddess Cate Blanchett) and is trapped on the garbage planet of Sakaar. He is held captive by a tyrant named Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum) and must find a way to return home before she begins her conquest of the known universe.
Hela returns to Asgard to rule over the Scourge of the Underworld, while looking for Heimdall (Idris Elba), who has been robbed. In any case, Hela has banished Thor and Loki to a new home on the planet Sakaar, where they face the Scourge. Asgardian scenes are cast, but the flesh of the film takes on a much stranger setting. He is joined by Thor's best friend Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and his brother Thor (Chris Hemsworth).

Thor defeats Hulk to return to Asgard before Hela kills everyone and takes control of him at home, but not before a battle with the Hulk and the Avengers.
The Dark World (2013) had a special tone of family and humor that only Thor could shed, but Ragnarok 2017 takes up Thor's journey after he left Earth with the Marvel Avengers. Age of Ultron continues to pursue Thor to find out what the prophecy of Ragnarok means and what it means for him and his family. While the characters in the Thor films are in a comedy - made - in - a - land, the tone and the family come from its dynamics with Odin and Loki.
There's a lot of humor and a lot of tension between Odin and Loki and between Thor and Thor's family.
When Hela, the Goddess of Death (Cate Blanchett), returns to Asgard to seek dominion over the Nine Kingdoms, Thor is overwhelmed and banished to a garbage planet run by the eccentric Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum). Caught and forced into a gladiatorial battle, he plans to flee, fearing her return.
In his desperation to save his people, he connects with his adopted brother Thor (Chris Hemsworth), and an unusually bruised bromance takes shape.
Ragnarok may be the funniest Marvel movie yet (with Guardians of the Galaxy and Iron Man 3), but it's not without its frustrations. Apocalypse Apocalypse (title character Ragnarok) is averted by Thor's evil grandmother Hela (Cate Blanchett), and her hammy hauteur is thwarted by the presence of her evil sister Valkyrie (Idris Elba).
Blaze and Thingymajiggy would have been lost, and Act III feels leaden, unzipped from what came before.
Ragnarok is a successful and entertaining film whose ability to create its own unique view of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is not lost in the slightest. It's too long, but it's probably one of the most entertaining Marvel movies in years, if not the best Marvel movie of all time.
